The Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) has been a cornerstone of transportation engineering for generations. This presentation examines the lessons learned and the possible future of the HCM. We’ll explore the evolution of the HCM to its current 7th Edition. We’ll review some of the possible applications of the HCM, such as accounting for connected and automated vehicles.
